Conservation & Restoration
Fisher & Sons carry out all kinds of work to historic
buildings: private houses, public buildings and churches.
We undertake repairs, conservation, restoration, alterations
and extensions. These can carried out on a conventional
contract or design and build basis.
The first thing to establish is whether your building is
Listed. In many cases 'Listed Consent' would be required
prior to carrying out works to a Listed Building. We can advise
on the requirements.
The conservation of heritage requires the specialist knowledge
of the principles of best practice and the use of appropriate
materials, tools and techniques. Our workforce has all
the necessary knowledge and experience.
In addition to carrying out works to buildings constructed
using traditional materials, we also have experience of earth
construction, e.g. clay lump, wattle and daub, clay and hair
plasters. We have also completed projects using both
lime putty and natural hydraulic lime mortars and renders.
